Texas Instruments buys Adaptec's storage division

Texas Instruments (TI) has acquired Adaptec's high-end storage operation for an undisclosed fee. The aim is to develop and design high-end hard disk drive products for fibre-channel and SCSI interface controllers.

The deal will also see TI take on thirty five technical staff from Adaptec.
