IBM set to roll out 73Gb hard disk drive

IBM is to launch a hard disk drive capable of storing 73Gb of data. This puts it at the top of the capacity ranks - beating Seagate's 50Gb drive. However, the IBM drive won't be available until early 2000

The 10,000 RPM Ultrastar 72ZX is part of a family of disk drives and along with the 36LZX, IBM claims to provide the most bits per square inch - 7.04 billion - in the market.
