Dell is extending its storage offering for Windows NT with the introduction of the PowerVault SAN (storage area network) range products.

Supporting data hosted on other vendors' servers, such as Compaq's ProLiant range, the PowerVault 650F Fibre Channel storage systems provide up to 8.4TB of fibre channel storage and 16.8TB of backup storage.

The products include the Dell PowerVault SAN Configuration Tool, which provides a graphical overview of the system to calculate optimum spread of storage resources.
