Ontrack says loss of data linked to company mobility

The amount of data being lost each year is rising rapidly as company workforces become more mobile, according to data recovery company, Ontrack.

The company claims the number of calls it receives about lost data has increased by 30 per cent since June this year. Ontrack claims a large percentage of these calls are from mobile workers.
Ben Allen, country manager of Ontrack Europe, believes mobile workers are particularly at risk because they often fail to back-up important company information to the corporate network as frequently as they would if they were working from the desktop.
