Shares in hard disk manufacturer Western Digital have risen three per cent on news it will beat analysts expectations thanks to strong PC sales.
The firm said yesterday it now expects to record revenues in excess of $590m for the third quarter, including an operating profit of $20m.
It had previously expected to post lower results than its revenues of $575m for the last quarter of 2001.
Western Digital said the increased business was down to more solid demand than expected in PCs, for which it makes hard drives.
